[Through A Wall Of Fog]

Yay

This doesn't exactly remind me much of fog, it reminds me more of Air force pilot shell shock.
The song is actually really really awesome, I thought at first "Oh god, this one is going to need mastering." until I realized that your initial instrument had that as the tune. I could never do this kind of music, I don't work well with inconsistency (as in the drums and such) with music. I'm always doing the 4/4.

Thanks for the review, man. I'm surprised i have a straight 5.00 after 10 votes so far. Thats pretty wild. So there must still be some honest people on newgrounds, that or not many people enjoy my other glitched out wildness. Ah-hah. That and this is a pretty old track, haha. Weird stuff. Yeah, i have a hard time listening to simple drum patterns. I have to have complexity. Something that i can listen to for months and months over and over again - deciphering all the little bits. Thats why i enjoy glitch music so much. This is a pretty simple drum design compared to all my other stuff.. Perhaps i should get back to my roots and go for more ambient jazz glitch? Ha.

4/4's not bad. Its simple and everyone generally gets it. I don't know much about time sigs though, i just do what sounds good to me, haha. I've been slowly teaching myself music theory, though. Anyway! Enough babbling from me. I'll check out your track soon-like.

Well

I would classify this in a Misc genre, it isn't really so techno. And because I don't know much about this type, it's hard to say what needs correction. But it's definitely unique. But very very repetitive, and that can drive some people away (Haha, pun)
I did enjoy the song somewhat, but I got sick of it easily.

Review

The beginning Transition, was long, very long, but not boring.
I enjoyed your lead, but the bass drum is a bit too overpowering the punch is large enough to put me through a wall. So turn down the mid a bit on that bass kick.
There is alot of false transitions, that adds to the suspense, which is pretty good, and makes the build up last alot longer.
But then again, I was at 3:13 when I said that, so this song is just a huge build up.
Alot of Dirty and Clean leads and Synths,
This would have sounded awesome with a soft bass layered with a dirty ramp.

I'd hate to say this, but the song was dissapointing, it had a huge amount of promise, but as it got longer and longer, I noticed there was no victorius moment, to me it sounded like someone going to a battle, then instantly loosing. :[ Then that's the end of the fucking movie :|... probably would be the most dissapointing moment in a movie, but hey, this is a fun song to listen to.

Overall I enjoyed it, but it could definately use some Mastering work with the percussion.

Review

This is a pretty dirty song, and I like dirty songs.
Your bass lead is a drowning saw/ramp, kindof drowns out some other, or gets drowned by other sound.
The song in general sounds really bloated, and it's not exactly my style, but I'll listen to it anyway.
The beginning was pretty basic, just in general.
I don't exactly feel much of a structure in this song other than a bass drum and a lead.
If I had made this song, it wouldn't exactly be as dirty, but that's only my opinion.
I could really hear your benny B fanship in this song, yet it's original and set apart but not too far apart from Benny B.
Overall the song is a drown fest of hypnosis, which is good for me.
Nice job.

This song is mind blowing, I love those little chiffs that come in at 00:31
Aside from those few comments, its time to get serious.

I like the beginning, but it is a bit abrupt in a fashion statement kindof saying.
Your lead is chosen well, and nicely, bubbly and slimey works with this song.
Is that the lead or the bass? I can't tell, which is OKAY, but it would be awesome with a bass AND a lead.
I like those drums you have chosen, it's nice.
The ending is pretty cool, with that pad cutting off when it hits the high then norm note.

It's a great song though, 8/10 5/5

I agree, it's one of my personal favourites (ie the ones I actually like)

I remember liking the way I made it, but I cant remember if I had a lead, bass or a lead with bass (it was over a year ago)

Hmm

I don't know what it was about this one, I don't like it so much.
First of all, your melody is... unique, but at the same time very annoying, in my opinion anyway.
It might be my hangover, or the melody gives me a headache.
I don't see much of a scale that this is based on, almost seems random.
The drums are okay, but kindof unoriginal, I've heard these drums so many times, did you use a loop for them? It sounds like it.

The song is not bad, but it's definately not good.

Practice with sequencing and scales, (and mastering) and you will be on a good path.

I got the hang of the basics and made this song, now i need to build on that, make things less repetitive and add more quality into what turns out to be my next song

This sounds like a song inspired by the music from Starsiege, god what great music that game had.
You should look up music for Starsiege if you haven't, it's some good shit.

To the song, I love your slow ambient soundtrack feeling, it definitely sounds like it's from an Anime of some sort.
I used this song in my Demo Reel btw, look it up, I gave you credit.
