Good beginning, and good synths for the beginning. At about 00:25 when the drums kick in: The drums are nice and punchy, very technoey progression to a dirty squelchy sound at 00:30. The drum pattern is very DnB, but could definitely use some variation and different drums. The mastering is what needs the most work in this song, but I definitely see the potential in this, and you did have some nice compositional structure. 3/5 3/5. Happy raving my friend :]

KrisKrosNL responds:

I would have expected the mastering isn't good. Maybe it's either my new EQ technique that fails, or I'm just not learning anything new or good about Mastering. Thanks for the review.

Let me start by saying, the beginning sounded a tad bit fimiliar, in a bad way. However your pickup with the soft saw synth in the beginning really covered for that, yet, I can't say I'm fully satisfied with the hit you used. I really like the drop at 00:40 though, even though it still sounds (only subtly) generic. Don't get me wrong however, your song is done well. I love the fast pace that came with it, and the mastering is okay, though it could use some improvement. I LOVE the interchanging synth/bass that kicks in around 2:10, really good usage of shortsaws there. Overall, the song is done very well, yet I feel like I could pick all of the sounds you used out of a library, even if the sounds were made by you, I still have that tiny nudge from the generic factor, and that's why I gave you a 3.5/5 review, and a 4/5 vote. Happy sailing my friend. :]

Thanks

Well, as always, I listened in with the intro, which gives me the que to review or not, and as you can see, there is a review here. Love the drop around 00:35. As it progresses from the drop, I feel there is a lack of some certain bass element, But as I'm going on, I notice subtle changes start to take effect at 01:00. Some very nice progressions and buildups make up a portion of that VERY slight lack of... bass element. Love the pluck instrument that took effect around 2 minutes in, it really set a trancy mood and atmosphere. And now you are building to what I suspect will be another chorus.

And yes, an encore for the wonder of the trance sound. Very subtle echoey trippy synths I hear in the background around 03:25, it's all a good thing.

Hmm, was that bass that I hear on 04:20 there throughout the song? I guess I didn't notice it, prehaps I would suggest boosting the bass a bit more?

Eh whatever, I'm stoned so I thought I'd review a trance song. I'm giving it a 4.5/5 stars for minor "eh...."s but I'm rating your song a 5/5 just for the hell of it ;p

Take a listen to my latest trance! :]

AlexFarway responds:

thx man, we sure lack of that kind of constructive comments these days ! peace

Nobody understands the art of 90's rave techno, this is a masterpiece.

IanTheManGod responds:

Thanks G Im still learning how to use the program so alot of its basic, but i do what i can :) thanks again.

Mastering is something you pick up as you continue your venture in making music. Compression is a big part of it.
On to your song, I love it! I'm around 3:00 in and I find myself feeling something inside with this song, the melody is definitely something that catches my attention. However, the sound is very light and thin, I couldn't really play this song in a club if you know what I mean. The song in itself though, as a melodic adventure as it is, is very good :] 4/5

Stargenx responds:

Thanks for the review! I do like it a little bit lighter usually, but I'm working on it.

Love your little comment!
And I also like this track a lot! It reminds me of retro before-I-was-born techno, which I love listening to. I don't know if this is house or not, but frankly, I don't care. Boss hit!

AliceMako responds:

Glad you like it.

I was a child during the 1980s and the general consensus growing up was that the world was going to end any given second cus, you know, the bomb.

So by 1990 we'd all be dead at some point and i recall vividly this being an actual topic on the eight 'o clock news, scaremongering never went out of style since.

Then the same madness returned a decade later as y2k and perhaps alien invasion.

Now it's lagged by about two years but a prophecy from ardent human sacrificers is the current culprit.

I can't help but be fascinated by people's willingness to externalise the anxieties they have over their own impending and inevitable doom, as if somehow it is all so much better and less terrifying to come to terms with provided the whole damn world goes down with them.

And yes this is house, acid house to be precise.

FIDGEEE

All I can say is, COUGH MEDICINE IS AWESOME WITH THIS KIND OF MUSIC... don't ask, but it has to do with the FUCKING FIDGETING!
Love the song, I'm not actually on cough syrup at all, but this is some very nice NICE fidgety hard ass house, you mind giving my latest track a look?

Thanks for the review! I'll definitely check out what you've got. ;)

Hmm

Housestep soundds very similar to trance I guess. Like the intro though, but it's lacking some power to the kick a bit, but still decent. Now all you got to do is incorperate some grinding deep ass bass and then I would consider giving it the step appendage to the name ;]

Euphonou5 responds:

Yeah, I gotta agree actually. I was shooting for house, but it came out as trance haha. Got that bass all taken care of though. You should check out the finished version "I'm not going to miss you"

Badass

I like Neros song innocent, I also love this song, but I'm high as fuck and as always have an innovative accepting mind, if I was sober I would most likely say "house should be a main genre, and all the different styles of house would be on there. Newgrounds should have an electro/electronica genre selection"
But that's just me being an ignorant asshole probably.
None the less, great song!
5/5 10/10

mNl responds:

True ! - NG realy needs an electro section; it's better to keep the different styles sortet.
Nono,it's not just you,it's even me who seems to be an ignorant asshole :D
Thanks for your comment, glad you like the Song ! :)
Big Thanks 4 rating !

Dirty ass bass

Nice job mixing that dirty ass bass into a house beat, well done ^_^, that lead is pretty too, nice, like a beautiful robot woman singing, is that a crowd in the background?
Make the kix harder, and the snare harder, and you'll be good.

Check out my loop, Marinol :]

r4bbit responds:

ok, thanks

I'm a music hobbyist, or is it professional? Who knows?
